AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CATHEDRAL CITY, CALIFORNIA,
AMENDING SECTION 2 . 08. 060 OF THE CATHEDRAL CITY MUNICIPAL
CODE TO PROVIDE THAT THE CITY MANAGER SHALL CONSULT WITH
THE CITY COUNCIL ON CERTAIN PERSONNEL APPOINTMENTS.
The City Council of the City of Cathedral City, California,
does hereby ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 2 . 08. 060 Subsection B of the Cathedral
City Municipal Code is amended to read as follows:
"B" . Appoint, remove, promote, and demote any and all
officers and employees of the city except elective officers and the
city attorney, subject to all applicable personnel rules and
regulations which may be adopted by the City Council; provided,
however, that appointments of department heads shall be made only
after consultation with the City Council, and further provided that
nothing herein shall prevent the City Council from discussing with
the city manager personnel matters of concern to the City Council;"
SECTION 2 . EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall be in
full force and effect thirty (30) days after passage.
SECTION 3 . POSTING. The City Clerk shall within 15 days
after the passage of this ordinance, cause it to be posted in a at
least the three public places designated by resolution of the City
Council; shall certify to the adoption and posting of this
ordinance; and shall cause this ordinance and its certification,
together with proof of posting, to be entered in the book of
ordinances of this City.
The foregoing ordinance was approved and adopted at a meeting
of the City Council held on January 4, 1989 by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmembers DiGrandi, Hillery, Krings and Murphy
Mayor Hardie
