A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CATHEDRAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, PROVIDING FOR A COST-
SHARING ARRANGEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND NON-
REPRESENTED EMPLOYEES
WHEREAS, the City of Cathedral City has the authority to implement the
provisions of Section 20516 of the California Government Code regarding
Employee Cost Sharing; and
WHEREAS, the City has the authority to implement the provisions of
section 414(h)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code; and
WHEREAS, the City's "Classic" Non-Represented Executive,
Administrative, Professional, Confidential employees "Non-Rep" agree to a
California Public Employees' Retirement System ("CaIPERS") cost-sharing
arrangement with the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CATHEDRAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE,
DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That effective upon a Cathedral City Council-a pp roved
Ordinance and a fully executed contract amendment with CaIPERS, no earlier
than July 1, 2015, the City shall contribute the 7% normal member contribution on
behalf of the member, otherwise known as EPMC, for. Miscellaneous Classic
members of the Non-Rep group.
SECTION 2. The parties further agree that each Non-Rep, Non-Sworn
Classic member shall participate in a cost sharing arrangement and have agreed
to cost share an additional 9% towards the employer costs/rate as established by
CaIPERS.
SECTION 3. The parties further agree that each Non-Rep, Sworn (Safety)
Classic member shall participate in a cost sharing arrangement and have agreed
to cost share an additional 12% towards the employer costs/rate as established by
CaIPERS.
SECTION 3. That each Non-Rep, Non-Sworn Classic member has agreed
to pay 9% above the normal member contribution rate and each Non-Rep Sworn
(Safety) Classic member has agreed to pay 12% above the normal member
contribution rate.
SECTION 4. These additional Non-Rep Classic employee/member
contributions will be reported on a pre-tax basis.
SECTION 5. With a unanimous decision having been made by the Non-Rep
Classic employee group, as identified in Exhibit A, individual employees shall not
have the option of choosing whether or not to participate in the cost-sharing
arrangement.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a special meeting of the City
Council of the City of Cathedral City held on this 11th day of February 2015, by the
following vote:

The parties agree that,effective upon Cathedral City Council-approved Ordinance and fully executed contract amendment
with CaIPERS no earlier than July 1, 2015, Non-Rep members shall participate in a cost sharing arrangement in which the
City pays 7% of the member contribution (EPMC) and reports this contribution to CaIPERS as compensation earned. In
addition,each employee in said group agrees to pay an additional 9%of his/her pre-tax wages as cost sharing.
*Safety members who are Classic Safety members of CaIPERS shall participate in a cost sharing arrangement in which the
City pays 7% of the member contribution (EPMC) and reports this contribution to CaIPERS as compensation earned. In
addition,each employee in said group agrees to pay an addition -12%of his/her pre-tax wages as cost sharing.
