AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CATHEDRAL CITY,
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 8 OF ORDINANCE
NO. 194 RELATING TO THE IMPOSITION OF SPECIAL
CONDITIONS ON DEVELOPMENT WITHIN AREA BOUNDED
BY MC CALLUM WAY ON NORTH, DATE PALM DRIVE ON
WEST, ALISO ROAD ON SOUTH, AND SAN VINCENTE
AVENUE (EXTENDED SOUTHERLY TO ALISO ROAD) ON
EAST, HEREIN DESIGNATED AS "AFFECTED AREA B",
ON INTERIM BASIS, AND DECLARING THE URGENCY
THEREOF.
The City Council of the City of Cathedral City does ordain as
follows:
WHEREAS, this City Council did, on November 4, 1987, enact
pursuant to Section 65858 of the California Government Code, an
interim Ordinance (No. 194) imposing special conditions on
development within the area bounded by Mc Callum Way on the
North, Date Palm Drive on the West, Aliso Road on the South, and
San Vincente Avenue (extended southerly to Aliso Road) on the
East, hereinafter referred to as "Affected Area B", finding that
there is current and immediate threat to the public health,
safety or welfare; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of said Ordinance No. 194 was to impose
special conditions upon approval of additional subdivisions,
rezonings, conditional use permits, variances, building permits,
design review permits and other discretionary permits for
construction or development within the Affected Area which would
be required in order to comply with a zoning ordinance as without
such special conditions, approval would result in a threat to
public health, safety or welfare; and
WHEREAS, all of the facts found by the City Council in
Ordinance 194 continue to exist; and
WHEREAS, the effective period of said Ordinance No. 194 is
currently due to expire on December 18, 1987, but pursuant to
provisions of Government Code Section 65858, this City Council
has authority to extend said Ordinance for an additional period
of 10 months and 15 days; and
WHEREAS, this City Council has, pursuant to Government Code
Section 65858, held a public hearing after notice pursuant to
Government Code Section 65090;
SECTION 1. Ordinance No 194, Section 8, Amended. Section 8
of Ordinance No. 194 is amended to read as follows:
Ordinance No. 194, adopted by this City Council on
November 4, 1987, is hereby extended for a 10-month and 15-day
period, commencing December 19, 1987, and shall remain in effect
for such period unless sooner repealed or otherwise modified,
pursuant to the authority of Section 65858 of the Government Code
of the State of California.

SECTION 2 . EFFECTIVE DATE. Pursuant to Government Code
Section 65858, this Ordinance is effective immediately upon
adoption.
SECTION 3 . POSTING. The City Clerk shall within 15 days
after the passage of this Ordinance cause it to be posted in at
least the 3 public places designated by resolution of the City
Council; shall certify to the adoption and posting of this
Ordinance; and shall cause this Ordinance and its certification,
together with proof of posting, to be entered in the Book of
Ordinances of this City.
The foregoing Ordinance was approved and adopted at a meeting
of the City Council held on December 22 , 1987, by the
following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Di Grandi, Hillery, Krings, Murphy and
Mayor Paquette

ABSENT: None
