HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 78 ORDINANCE NO. 78 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CATHEDRAL L CITY AMENDING SECTION 3.24.030 OF THE CATHEDRAL CITY MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE RATE OF THE TRANSIENT OCCUPANCY TAX. The city council of the City of Cathedral City does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. The first sentence of Section 3.24.030 of the Cathedral City Municipal Code hereby is amended to read as follows: "For the privilege of occupancy in any hotel, each transient is subject to, and shall pay a tax in the amount of nine percent of the rent charged by the operator or otherwise payable by the transient." SECTION 2. EFFECTIVE DATE AND OPERATIVE DATE. This ordinance, being an ordinance relating to taxes for usual and current expenses of the City, shall take effect immediately upon its passage, but shall be operative on November 1, 1984. SECTION 3. POSTING. The City Clerk shall within 15 days after the passage of this ordinance, cause it to be posted in at least the 3 public places designated by resolution of the City Council; shall certify to the adoption and posting of this ordinance; and shall cause this ordinance and its certification, together with proof of posting, to be entered in the book of ordinances of this City.
