HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Reso 2018-13 RESOLUTION NO. 2018-13 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CATHEDRAL CITY ACTING ON BEHALF OF IMPROVEMENT AREA NO. 10 OF THE CITY OF CATHEDRAL CITY COMMUNITY FACILITIES DISTRICT NO. 2006-1 (LAW ENFORCEMENT, FIRE, PARAMEDIC AND PARK MAINTENANCE SERVICES) CANVASSING THE RESULTS OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION HELD WITHIN SAID DISTRICT WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cathedral City, California (the "Council") has previously conducted proceedings pertaining to the formation of Improvement Area No. 10 of the City of Cathedral City Community Facilities District No. 2006-1 (Law Enforcement, Fire, Paramedic and Park Maintenance Services) (the "District"), the rate and method of apportionment of a special tax to finance a portion of the cost of providing certain public services, and the calling of a special election in regard to the foregoing; and WHEREAS, on March 14, 2018, a special election was held within the District regarding the rate and method of apportionment of the proposed special tax; and WHEREAS, at such special election the proposal for the rate and method of apportionment and manner of collection of the special tax for the District was approved by the qualified electors of the District; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CATHEDRAL CITY DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. It is hereby determined the election conducted within the District was duly conducted. Section 2. The Council, acting as the legislative body of the District, is authorized to levy the special tax on behalf of District, as specified in Resolution No. 2018-11 adopted by the City Council on March 14, 2018. PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 14th day of March, 2018 by the following votes: AYES: Council Members Aguilar, Carnevale and Kaplan; Mayor Pro Tem Pettis and Mayor Henry NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None Mayor ATTEST: City Clerk
