AN URGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CATHEDRAL
CITY DESIGNATING THE PLACE FOR THE HOLDING
OF REGULAR MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL DURING
THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY, 1982 .
1 The city council of the City of Cathedral City does ordain
as follows :
SECTION 1 . Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 2 .04.020
of the Cathedral City Municipal Code (as amended by Ordinance
No . 5 adopted on December 2 , 1981 ) the regular meetings of the
City Council to be held during the month of February, 1982 , shall
be held at the sanctuary chamber of the United Presbyterian Church,
38-088 Chuperosa Lane , Cathedral City, California.
SECTION 2 . URGENCY. This Ordinance is adopted as an urgency
measure for the immediate preservation and protection of the public
safety, health and welfare . The declaration of the facts consti-
tuting the urgency is as follows : The place designated in Ordinance
No. 5 for the holding of City Council meetings commencing in January,
1982 is in a new building, a portion of which has been leased by
the City for municipal administration purposes . At the time of
adoption of Ordinance No . 5, it was anticipated and promised by the
lessor that the area to house the Council chambers would be read-
ied for use in time for the Council ' s January meetings . However ,
unforeseen difficulties and exigencies have prevented completion
of necessary work to render the chambers usable for Council meet-
ing purposes . It is accordingly necessary that the place for
meetings be forthwith redesignated so that the Council will be
legally enabled to carry on essential public business and services. _
SECTION 3 . EFFECTIVE DATE--POSTING. This Ordinance shall
be in full force and effect immediately upon adoption by at least
a four-fifths vote of the City Council ; and the City Clerk shall
forthwith after the passage of this ordinance , cause it to be
posted in at least the 3 public places designated by resolution
of the City Council ; shall certify to the adoption and posting
of this ordinance ; and shall cause this ordinance and its certi-
fication, together with proof of posting, to be entered in the
book of ordinances of this City.
