A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CATHEDRAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING A 20-MINUTE
PARKING LIMITATION FOR SELECTED PARKING SPACES
FRONTING THE PICKFAIR PROMENADE RETAIL COMPLEX
WHEREAS, Chapter 12.32 of the Cathedral City Municipal Code covers parking
regulations in the City; and
WHEREAS, Sub-section 12.32.040 of the parking code covers: "Stricter parking
regulations within Council-established limited-parking zones"; and
WHERAS, Sub-section 12.32.100 of the parking code covers: "Curb markings to
indicate no stopping and parking regulations": and
WHEREAS, representatives of the Pickfair Promenade shopping and restaurant
complex requested restricted 20-minute parking limitations for selected parking spaces
fronting the complex at East Palm Canyon Drive and Monte Hall Drive.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, DETERMINED, AND ORDERED BY
THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF CATHEDRAL CITY, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. AUTHORIZATION
The City Council authorizes the 20-minute parking limitations for five (5)
designated parking spaces along the East Palm Canyon Drive frontage of the Pickfair
Promenade shopping and restaurant complex in downtown Cathedral City. This
proposed 20-minute designation is considered a pilot program in that location, which will
be evaluated after the first 90-days of operation to determine its effectiveness to the
satisfaction of both the business owners and the City.
Section 2. DESIGNATION
The 20-minute parking spaces will be designated with "green" painted curbs with
the words: "20 MINUTE PARKING" in white letters on top of the green curbs.
Section 3. EFFECTIVE DATE
This Resolution shall take effect upon its adoption.
Section 4. CERTIFICATION
That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution;
shall enter the same in the book of original Resolutions of said City; and shall make a
minute of passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City
Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which Resolution is passed and
adopted.
