A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CATHEDRAL
CITY AUTHORIZING THE CODE COMPLIANCE CHIEF OR DESIGNEE
TO EXECUTE AND RECORD RELEASE INSTRUMENTS TO REMOVE
CERTAIN PROPERTIES FROM ASSESSMENT ROLLS UPON FULL
SATISFACTION OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS

j WHEREAS, the City Council desires to promote the free enjoyment and alienation
of property to the extent possible while at the same time continuing to require the full
J payment of special assessments levied against certain properties in connection with code
compliance abatements; and
WHEREAS, the City Council currently levies special assessments against various
parcels in the City by resolution on an annual basis; and
1 WHEREAS, the City Council now desires to authorize the City's Code Compliance
Chief or designee to release such special assessments upon full satisfaction.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CATHEDRAL CITY AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. RECITALS
That the above recitals are all true and correct.
Section 2. AUTHORIZATION TO PREPARE AND EXECUTE RELEASE
INSTRUMENTS
That authority be delegated to the City's Code Compliance Chief or designee,
once a special assessment has been paid in full for a particular parcel, to perform the
following tasks:
1. Prepare and execute a release form that confirms full payment of, and to
release the parcel from, the special assessment; and
2. Record the release form with the office of the Riverside County Recorder
informing the recorder of the full payment of the special assessment and
request removal of the special assessment from the tax rolls against the
property.
Section 3. SEVERABILITY
The City Council declares that, should any provision, section, paragraph, sentence

or word of this resolution be rendered or declared invalid by any final court action in a
court of competent jurisdiction or by reason of any preemptive legislation, the remaining
provisions, sections, paragraphs, sentences or words of this resolution as hereby adopted
shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 4. REPEAL OF CONFLICTING PROVISIONS
All the provisions of any existing Cathedral City resolution as heretofore adopted by
the City of Cathedral City that are in conflict with the provisions of this resolution are
hereby repealed.
Section 5. EFFECTIVE DATE
This Resolution shall take effect upon adoption.
Section 6. CITY CLERK
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this resolution and enter it into the
book of original resolutions.
