HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - Reso 2024-06 - 02/14/2024 RESOLUTION NO. 2024-06 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CATHEDRAL CITY AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE VARIOUS ROUTINE EASEMENTS, AGREEMENTS, LICENSES AND OTHER DOCUMENTS, FOR ACTIONS RELATED TO CITY-OWNED LAND, ON BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL WHEREAS, the City of Cathedral City owns various parcels of land throughout the City which are sometimes used, leased, or rented by private firms or individuals for various uses, such as cell towers or commercial uses; and WHEREAS, from time to time, the City is requested by utility companies or other parties to grant easements for utilities across such parcels in support of the lease, rental or land use, or is requested to execute other similar routine documents, license, or agreements related to city-owned land; and WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to be able to expedite the execution of such easements and documents and to reduce the length of City Council agendas by assigning the authority to approve such documents to the City Manager or his designee. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, DETERMINED AND ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CATHEDRAL CITY, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Authorization The City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized on behalf of the City Council, to approve and/or execute various routine easements, agreements, and licenses; and approve other routine actions related to City-owned property, Section 2. Review and Reporting Each such easement or document shall first be reviewed by the Director of Public Works prior to recommending that the City Manager execute and/or approve the document, and in turn the City Manager will update the City Council after each such easement, document or action is approved. If the matter is deemed to be more than routine or considered to be of some importance, a Staff Report will be prepared for City Council consideration at a regularly scheduled City Council meeting. Section 3: Effective date This Resolution shall take effect upon its adoption. 1 Section 4. Certification That the City Clerk shall certify the passage and adoption of this Resolution and shall enter the same in the Book or original Resolutions of the City.
