HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Reso 2022-56 RESOLUTION NO. 2022- 5 6 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CATHEDRAL CITY, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF CATHEDRAL CITY'S CODE COMPLIANCE DIVISION TO SERVE AS THE ENFORCEMENT AGENCY FOR AB 1276 WITHIN THE CITY OF CATHEDRAL CITY, CALIFORNIA. WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 1276, Single-use Foodware Accessories and Standard Condiments, passed October 5, 2021 and went into effect January 1, 2022; and WHEREAS, the bill requires a city, county, or city and county to authorize an enforcement agency to enforce the requirements of AB 1276; and WHEREAS, the bill specifies that the first and second violations result in a notice of violation, and any subsequent violation is an infraction punishable by a fine of $25 for each day in violation, but not to exceed an annual total of$300. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Cathedral City, California, that the Code Compliance Division is designated as the enforcement agency to enforce the requirements of AB 1276 within the City of Cathedral City, California.
