A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CATHEDRAL CITY,
CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE REGULAR MUNICIPAL
ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY ON NOVEMBER 3, 2020, DECLARING THE
RESULT THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY LAW
WHEREAS, a Regular Election was held and conducted in the City of Cathedral City,
California, on Tuesday, November 3, 2020; and
WHEREAS, notice of the election was given in time, form and manner as provided by law;
that voting precincts were properly established; that election officers were appointed and that in
all respects the election was held and conducted and the votes were cast, received and
canvassed and the returns made and declared in time, form and manner as required by the
provisions of the Elections Code of the State of California for the holding of elections in general
law cities; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 2020-27, adopted June 24, 2020, the Riverside
County Registrar of Voters canvassed the returns of the election and has certified the results to
this City Council, said results are received, attached and made a part hereof as "Exhibit A."
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CATHEDRAL CITY,
CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Per Election Code 10264, The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the
City Council of the City, a statement of the result of the election showing: (1) The whole number
of ballots cast in the City; (2) The names of the persons voted for; (3) the measure voted for; (4)
For what office each person was voted for; (5)The number of votes given at each precinct to each
person, and for and against the measure; (6)The total number of votes given to each person, and
for and against each measure.
SECTION 2. That said Regular Election was held for the purpose of electing the
following officials of said City:
Two (2) Members of the City Council Elected by District (District 1 and District 2) each for
a full term of four (4) years
The names of the persons voted for at said election are as follows:
Councilmember District 1:
Rita Lamb
Councilmember District 2:
Nancy Ross
SECTION 3. That the whole number of ballots cast in the precincts in Cathedral City for
the District 1 seat was 3,328, that the whole number of ballots cast in the precincts in Cathedral
City for the District 2 seat was 2, 920.

SECTION 5. That the number of votes given at each precinct and the number of votes
given in the City to each of the persons named above for office for which said persons were
candidates for, are listed in the attached Exhibit "A".
SECTION 6. The City Council declares and determines the following:
(a) That the voters have elected Rita Lamb Councilmember of District 1 of said City
for the full term of four (4) years;
(b) That the voters have elected Nancy Ross as Councilmember of District 2 of said
City for the full term of four (4) years;
SECTION 7. Per Election Code 10265, the City Clerk shall immediately make and deliver
to each of the person so elected a Certificate of election signed by the City Clerk and
authenticated; that the City Clerk shall also administer to each person elected the Oath of Office
prescribed in the Constitution of the State of California and shall have them subscribe to it and
file it on the office of the City Clerk. Each and all of the persons so elected shall then be inducted
into the respective office to which they were elected.
SECTION 8. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this
Resolution and enter it into the book of original Resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute
of passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City,
in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a special meeting of the City Council of the
City of Cathedral City held on this 8th day of December, 2020, by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmembers Carnevale, Gutierrez and Lamb; Mayor
Pro Tem Gregory and Mayor Aguilar
Noes: None
