A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CATHEDRAL
CITY, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING FEES AND HOURS OF
OPERATION FOR SPECIAL EVENTS AT THE CATHEDRAL CITY
COMMUNITY AMPHITHEATER
WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that the fees established in this
resolution represent the City's estimated reasonable costs of operating, maintaining, and
establishing a facility reserve fund to improve park facilities.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that the hours of operation in
this resolution represent the City's goal of providing quality entertainment for residents
and guests without jeopardizing the quality of life of those living nearby the park.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CATHEDRAL CITY,
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The foregoing findings are true and correct and incorporated herein
by this reference.
SECTION 2. The following fees shall be paid by any individual applying for a
special use permit to reserve and use the Cathedral City Community Amphitheater.
These fees shall be non-refundable unless waived by a vote of the majority of the City
Council:
Community Event (Events for Cathedral City, Palms Springs Unified School
District, and local non-profits supported by the City): Free to $2,500, Security
Deposit $1,000
Non-profit events under 300 guests: $2,500 - $5,000, Security Deposit $1,000
Non-profit events over 300 guests: $5,000 - $10,000, Security Deposit $1,000
Photo Shoots / Filming: $1,500 per every five hours, Security Deposit, $5,000
Private Functions under 200 guests (weddings, birthdays, family reunions, and
other celebrations): $2,500 - $8,000, Security Deposit $5,000 - $10,000
Private Functions over 200 guests with a maximum of 2,900 guests (weddings,
birthdays, family reunions, and other celebrations): $5,000 and up, Security
Deposit $5,000 - $10,000
Commercial Events under 1,000 guests (concerts, shows, and other major
functions) $10,000 and up, Security Deposit $10,000

Commercial Events over 1,000 with a maximum of 2,900 guests (concerts, shows,
and other major functions) $10,000 and up, Security Deposit $10,000
Special Weekend Events:
Coachella Weekend 1: $30,000 - $100,000+, Security Deposit $10,000
Coachella Weekend 2: $10,000 - $30,000+, Security Deposit $10,000
Stagecoach Weekend: $10,000 - $30,000+, Security Deposit $10,000
Splash Weekend: $10,000 - $30,000+, Security Deposit $10,000
SECTION 3. The Cathedral City Community Amphitheater shall operate between
the following hours and conditions:
Sunday through Thursday: 7 am to 9 pm, local time.
Friday and Saturday: 7 am to 10 pm, local time.
Friday and Saturday Extended Hour: 10 pm to 11 pm, local time, so long as the
sound level remains 65 decibels or less at East Palm Canyon Drive.
SECTION 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this
Resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of Cathedral City held on this 11th day of December, 2019, by the following
vote:

Gregory and Mayor Aguilar
