Side Letter of Agreement
between the City of Cathedral City and
the Cathedral City Police Management Association (CCPMA)
SUBJECT: Change of Classification Title of Police Lieutenant to Police Commander
The parties agree that, effective with the change of shift beginning January 15, 2017, the
current job classification title of Police Lieutenant shall be changed to Police Commander. All
Articles of the CCPMA Memorandum of Understanding that speak to or pertain to Police
Lieutenant shall apply to Police Commander. Incumbents whose title changes from Police
Lieutenant to Police Commander shall experience no change other than title as a result of this
action.
Articles that apply include but are not limited to the following:
• Article 8.9 Overtime
• Article 8.11 Call Out Pay
• Article 8.15.2 Relief Sergeant and Lieutenant
• Article 8.21 Certification and Education Incentives
• Article 8.22 Police Employee Court Appearance Time
• Article 8.23 Management Incentive Pay
• Article 16.3 Uniform/Equipment Allowances
