HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Reso 2019-16 RESOLUTION 2019 - 16 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CATHEDRAL CITY PERTAINING TO THE ISSUANCE OF SAFE AND SANE FIREWORKS PERMITS WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of the City of Cathedral City desires to permit the sale of safe and sane fireworks for the June 28 - July 4 holiday period; and WHEREAS, Section 12643 of the California Health and Safety Code, Title 19 of the California Code of Regulations, and the California Fire Code regulate the firework permit application process, storage and sale of safe and sane fireworks; and WHEREAS, in 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2013 the City Council adopted Ordinances 575, 601, 638, 669, 694 and 723 respectively, which allowed for the lawful sale and discharge of safe and sane fireworks on the above referenced dates and within the jurisdictional boundaries of the City; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to regulate, to the extent permitted by law, the sale of safe and sane fireworks; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CATHEDRAL CITY DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: 1. THAT Approval of the 2019 safe and sane fireworks permits is hereby granted to the following Cathedral City based church, civic and youth organizations; a. Calvary Bible Church b. Cathedral City High School Lions Boosters d. Desert Elite Football Club 2. THAT City Manager Charles McClendon is the appointed agent for the City of Cathedral City, to conduct all application, acceptance and implementation arrangements and to execute and submit all documents and any other necessary or desirable instruments in connection with such permits. 3. THAT the City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this Resolution and shall cause the same to be processed in the manner required by law. 1 PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this 22nd day of May 2019.
