citywide survey of registered voters to determine the community's level of interest
in becoming part of the DRD. The poll was completed during the early part of
December. He presented the results of the survey.
City Manager McClendon indicated that the sub-commitee will meet to review the
results of the survey and develop an action plan that will be brought back to the
Council for consideration, this would include an action item and budget
amendment to support and advocacy and education, should that be the
recommendation of the committee.
B. Update from the Cannabis Task Force
Recommendation: This item is presented for information, discussion and
direction only.
City Manager Charlie McClendon, provided an update from the Cannabis Task
Force. He stated that the following recommendations were made by the Task
Force:
Exempting non-cannabis products from the 10% sales tax.
Background checks should only be required on owners and managers. Should
background checks still be required on all employees, they would like to see the
development and issuance of an industry card to employees or potential
employees who pass the background check.
